Does anyone have experience of sending additional documents to the Manila VO, after the file has been sent from Mississauga? We are January applicants, SA has been granted. We will shortly have additional documentation pertaining to the child custody portion of the application & will send it in, referencing our names, UCI #, etc. We'll send it by courier from within the Philippines as well for tracing purposes. I'm just concerned that it will indeed find its way into our file, curious to know if anyone has had (positive) experience in this regard (since Manila apparently doesn't even send AOR's how could we ever know if they receive this added document)? Thanks!

I've sent additional docs there three times, always by UPS from Canada. They received them every time. Just make sure you enclose a covering letter referencing your spouse's UCI number and permanent residence file number so that they can match the docs up to a particular file.

Thanks Bartjones. Courier receipt process pretty self-evident, yes a cover citing UCI, etc. for sure too, just have to assume that it will get put into the file, I guess the only evidence of that is a positive final decision.

If you order your GCMS notes a month or so after you submit the documents, the notes will show whether the documents were received.

I also sent an email to the VO telling them the docs had been delivered. Twice they responded that they had received them, once they just ignored me.

Oh, one more thing. If you are sending documents in response to a specific request from Manila, you should also enclose a copy of their request letter.

Thanks again bartjones, there has so far been no request but good point. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the GCMS notes, I'll do a search on here to hopefully learn more about that....I suppose it's some sort of access to information process?

I'm not sure what the email address is for the Manila VO but here's a link with some info:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/offices/missions/manila.asp

the general email address is: manila-im-enquiry @ international.gc.ca (just remove the spaces in the email)
and they have a case-specific enquiry form: https://dmp-portal.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/case-cas-eng.aspx?mission=manila

Thanks Zarilenth, great "dig"! And you're not even a Manila applicant....going the extra mile, what a trooper! (PS try not to sweat it too much re: your perceived shortfall in supporting documentation, you'll be ok! Straightening out your medicals is of course critical but you don't need to worry about supplying zillions of other phone/email records imo :) )

Hah, thank you Gumper! I try to help out when I can, it keeps me from going crazy waiting. And thanks for the re-assurance! This is probably the most stressful thing I've done in my life, lol.

Yes. Costs five bucks and in thirty days you can get the notes the VO has made regarding your file. You may want to order them a little later in the process, since I think you only submitted your application a few months ago. There won't be much in the system at this point that will be very interesting.

thank you so much zarilenth :P :P :P :P

bless day to you
