Submitting police certificate later

I am in a position to have to do so because I have to send my application ASAP but will not be receiving the police certificate for at least 7-10 days.

Has anyone submitted their police certificate later and separately then your citizenship application? If so, do I just let them know in writing with the application that I have to send it later due to the reasons above?

Why didn't you wait the extra 10 days? Now you risk waiting for a month and having your app returned to you because it isn't complete, then you have to start over again.
