Submitting CIC application with almost expired passport?

I have just found that my passport expires sooner than my AINP nomination. I am a Mexican citizen and it would take me too long to receive a new passport. So... should I submit documents as it is... I will have 7-10 days till my passport expires.

My friend advised me to correct expiration date in Photo-shop. Later, when I get a new passport (in 2 months) I will send them a copy of it.
I know it's not good..... most probable I am not gonna do it...
I am just curious - can they validate expiration date of my passport? Does AINP provides all data to CIC?

Obey the LAW, . DO NOT MAKE FOOL MISTAKES THAT CAN COST YOU A MISREPRESENTATION. CIC DOES NOT PLAY.

I WOULD JUST GO AHEAD AND RENEW MY PASSPORT AND IF THEY ASK, I PROVIDE THE PROOF THAT I AM WORKING ON IT. PERHAPS, YOU MAY WANT TO MAKE A LETTER EXPLANATION.

The step mentioned by you is very risky. I would never do that. Could you let us lnow how much time it takes to renew a passport in MEXICO and Why there is a urgency on your behalf?
