After my ITA by 25 days I completed the application and uploaded my documents for EE federal skilled worker stream. Now I wait. What advice would you give me in the months of waiting?
Any useful links/resources I can refer to prepare for the upcoming months?

Thanks

  • Join your submission cohort ("August 2018 AOR") and/or whatsapp group.
  • Keep yourself busy and try not to check your application more than 3 times a day.
  • Check out immitracker (link is currently not working, check back another time) to get a feel for what kind of timelines people are seeing.
  • Don't judge yourself against the fastest of the fast. Look at averages and remember that most applications take 2-4 months to be processed, sometimes longer.
  • Get some Canadian PR photos taken at some point (maybe wait a couple weeks) so you have them ready for when you get the golden email.
  • Figure out how you plan on sending and receiving your passport to your local visa office.
  • Think about how and when you'd want to move. Would you do a soft landing? Would you move in one go? Would you apply for jobs before or after moving?
  • Start making a list of all the items you'll bring with you to Canada in excel. You'll need to fill out forms BSF186/BSF186A when you move.
