I just recently submitted my EE application on Friday and immediately receive AOR message from them. I assume this "receipt" is just an automated message.

Just so happen - I am moving (in the same city) in December.
I assume I should notify them through: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/change-address.asp

Would it be an issue since I just submitted my application and I assume they haven't even looked at it yet?
I am thinking to send them the change address notification as well as sign up for Canada Post mail forwarding just in case so I don't miss any important mails, especially from immigration.

Thoughts?

As EE is almost completely online, residential address change doesn't really matter unless you relocate to another country. There's no physical communication sent to your address at any time throughout the process. So there's no real need for you to update your new address but there is no harm in doing that as well.

I would just add that it is still important in some ways to update address depending upon the situation.

E.g.

- you have physical mail communication via postal address for PPR and return
- If you wish to do landing at a CIC office, you have to call a specific number and can only get the CIC office near your location. The instructions say that you cannot just go to any CIC office or book appointment for landing.
- You applied for Federal programs while living in Quebec and showed intention of moving outside of Quebec
- You might be switching address and job (specially in case where you applied with an LMIA based job and gained points for that).

So in summary, it is appropriate to update address as soon as you move, also because CIC has written explicitly of notifying them.

Just my two cents.

Agre with this. Makes a lot of sense to update address for these specific situations.
