Studying In Canada

I am currently living in Ontario, Canada on a work permit with the IEC ( International Experience Canada ) and I am looking at getting a study visa, I have already been accepted into a college.

So far I understand that I have to go to a high commission outside of canada in order to to apply for my study visa, Would I have to fly back home ( England) and go to a high commission or can I just drive down the to states and apply there?

Also how long does the process take.

Thanks

Charles.

As far as you have a valid document( work permit), you would just apply for school, when you are accepted and your tuition fee is paid ( first semester only for now or full year if you have the money), you would be given an acceptance letter which you would use to apply for study permit online( its faster 1 month). You don't need student visa because you are already in Canada under work permit. All you need is study permit.
