Hello,

I have a work permit case type 20 and I'm working at a university. Although on my permit it's said that I cannot study unless authorized, I'd like to get an exception because I'd like to make a "co-advisor" or "co-tutorship" of a PHD program with my current university and the university of my country. That means that I'd need to be able to stydy on a course which is a part of an academic program, so I need to be authorized. I think none of the posibilities of applying for a student visa (Post-graduation, Off-campus, etc.) suits me because my aim is to continue working in the meantime and after my studying period. Does anybody know what I should do? Can you give me any idea?

Thank you!

Did you call CIC? If not, maybe you should.

Certainly, I have called them. Their answer was to apply to a student visa. However, I want to continue working as I'm doing now and for that I need a work permit. I'd just need an authorization, as it's said on my work permit, but I don't know how to get it and the answer from CIC didn't suit my case.

Try calling local MP?

Maybe his office could suggest something.
