Finally I decided to go for study in Canada. My field of study is Bachelors of Arts but working in IT Company as system support engineer. I want to go for post graduation in project management at Humber College. I have a relative in Toronto and hence decided to stay at his house. He has agreed to open up account in my name in Toronto and deposit 10000 CAD.I have spoken to bank for educational loan for 10 lakh INR. The Cost of project management course at Humber comes around 13,000 CAD (Almost 6 Lakh INR). My father has got property and we have rented 2 houses and own a lorry. Mother is Homemaker and wife is working in MNC.I have the below doubts. Can somebody please clarify.

1)My field of study and work is entirely different from the course I opted for. Is there a chance of my visa getting rejected? Or shall I apply for Information Technology Solutions ( 20% related to my job) at Humber and then change the course once visa is stamped.
2)My father doesn’t have any IT returns document nor funds at bank. Will it affect my visa
3)I have got 7.0 overall in IELTS.Is that sufficient.
4)I have around 5 lakh INR at my bank account which I borrowed from relatives. Can I show a letter from my bank about the funds instead of bank statement.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

1. Why do not you apply for a course related to system administrator? As you already possess a work experience in this field. Simply take a letter of work experience from your employer's “official letter head”, and attach it with your Visa papers.

Even with your proposed “Project Management” course, you won't be able to satisfy Visa officer of your credentials, like first it's BA, thn work experience in IT field, and now aspiring for a “Project Management”. Just think what the connection between these 3 different fields is. And Project Management is not a very “safe course”. So far I have not seen a single case of visa approval for courses like Project Management. (Correct me if I am wrong) and I can easily conclude that you are in touch with an agent who suggest this course to you. If I, a simple student can conclude as such, thn just think about a Visa officer who handles thousands of applications with such courses !

2. It could be an issue for you. I am referring to “funds” in bank. There must be some official records for proving your Financial capacity, which could be;

a. Certified Bank loan
b. FDR
c. Bank Statement (of at least 1 year)
d. Sponsorship letter

3. Your IELETS in ok.

4. You can't prove your financial capacity by borrowing money. As I said bank statement is required of at least 1 year, so do not you think there might too much variation in your banking records ? and you need a proper Bank statement, not a letter from your bank.

I quote; “I have a relative in Toronto and hence decided to stay at his house. He has agreed to open up account in my name in Toronto and deposit 10000 CAD”

- Instead of doing going this way, you should simply follow the rules of sponsorship. (no other option is going to work!)

I quote SPP/General Visa Checklist

“Reference letter from the individual(s) providing you financial assistance for your program. The letter must indicate their occupation and relationship to you, the number of dependents they have and their full contact details. You should also provide a letter from the employer of the individual(s) providing you financial assistance for your program, clearly indicating employer contact details and full street address of business location.”

Hi,

1. System Administration of what ? Is it Linux, Window, Redhat, Ubuntu, Fedora etc etc etc.

I would suggest you to keep a Master degree as your first option, and PG as your second option. It's REALLY NOT POSSIBLE to get visa just by meeting 'minimum requirement' of your visa checklist.

2. It's NOT possible to get full educational loan in India (If you are an Indian!), at the most you shall get 85 percent of your required expenses and rest 15 percent comes from your pocket !

For your visa processing in India, Certified bank loan is an extremely important instrument as the same is conclusive and verifiable but your bank statement is equally important as it shows your 'level of establishment'. You have NO OTHER OPTION but to follow SPP/General visa checklist.

Thanks enfield,

Iam just amazed by your quick response. I tried searching for masters in system administration ( Windows First option, if not Linux). But iam unable to find any. I found a Compressed diploma offered by Algonquin (2 year course compressed to 1.25 years). Is it a good option for me. Do u have any information on masters or postgraduation in system administration offered in canada.
