STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
I wish to express my interest in applying for my student visa in Canada. I have got offer letter from Cambrian College for the course Hotel and Restaurant Management for January 2020 intake. I believe all my interests, skills and the educational background makes me a prospective student for this course.
I have completed my secondary education from Punjab School Education Board with 55% marks in the year 2012 and my senior secondary from the same board in the year 2014 in arts stream with 62% marks. I planned to make my career in Hospitality sector. Further I pursued and completed Hotel Management diploma from Kalinga University in 2016 with 66% marks. I have experience of working in hospitality & catering service in Federation of Skill Development from Sept,2016-March,2017. I also have experience in housekeeping & food department in Holiday Inn Hotel, Malaysia from July,2017- Dec,2017. I am working as Event Coordinator in Mount view Hotel , Patiala Road, Punjab, India since Feb, 2018 till date.
I have inculcated the qualities of politeness, excellent communication skills, self discipline and also patience to deal with the guest criticism even when we know that we are right. Slowly and gradually, the dream became a passion and I made myself determinant about making a career in hospitality management. So, I have decided to study the hotel and management course overseas and I applied for Hotel and Restaurant Management in Cambrian College. For getting admission in the college, I gave IELTS exam and got overall score of 6.0 bands.
Family background plays a crucial role in the development of student's academic motivation and achievement. My parents are always beside me in every step of my life. Now in Canada, they are willing to sponsor me for my study and living expenses. My father is an agriculturist and has annual agricultural income of INR 8,80,200. Moreover, I have paid my annual tuition fee to the Cambrian College and deposited my GIC which will also help me to counterbalance my expenses in abroad.
Canada is among the top destinations for students to study abroad. International students can gain valuable education at very low fees compared to other countries. Canadian institutes provide a dynamic, innovative and challenging environment in which one can create and nurture their true potential. Foreign qualification will surely be a strong base for boosting my career and building my future.
When I was in the phase of choosing the suitable college in Canada, I browsed a lot on the internet. I researched about many institutes in the Canada like canadore college, conestoga college but I found the best suitable course of Hospitality & Tourism in Cambrian College. Hotel and Restaurant Management program develops the skills and knowledge to enter the workforce and to perform the roles in front-line service. I will be learning the information in mixology, wines, customer service, hotel services, and menu planning and design. I will also be provided with an introduction to managerial concepts including accounting, marketing, law and human resource management.
Cambrian College was the perfect destination for me to pursue my higher education. All of my past endeavors make me feel highly motivated and energetic at adopting new attitudes and encountering new things. This is why I have chosen to keep improving myself by considering for a course in Cambrian College, Canada. Based in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, The Cambrian College established is 1967, is a public college. The college offers a full range of academic programs. The College delivers current and relevant skills based education and training allowing students. The College provides a safe, affordable student-friendly environment.
In today’s era of globalization, hospitality industry is indeed assuming greater significance. There are many job opportunities for hotel management graduates since a hotel has many departments such as Operations, Front Office, Food and Beverages, Maintenance, Security, Accounting. Besides this a graduate can have opportunities in Airline and railway travel, Conferences and conventions centers, Travel agencies, Tourist offices and ministries of tourism, Tour operators, Event management, Catering companies, Bars and private clubs, Concert and theatre venues, Museums, Real estate management companies, Hotel development and construction and many more etc. and one can opt for any of these fields of their liking. That is why I have chosen the hospitality management
After completing my course I would like to work in hospitality sector in Canada by getting post study work visa and will get experience in the Canadian hotels. Hotel management degree graduates can maximize their earnings by gaining significant experience and moving up to higher-level positions. After working with some of the renowned hotels of Canada for couple of years, I intend to come back to India with the outstanding skill set. I would come back and will open my own hotel with a view to providing the excellent facilities to the people. India is a developing country; the hotels in India use very less modern equipments and have become less fascinating for the people. Therefore I will provide the best modern facilities to the customers.
I hope I will be able to take admission in the Cambrian College. I am very determined to do well in my studies in the college. I guarantee that I will put in my full efforts towards the successful completion of my study. I look forward to you accepting me for this program at your college.
