Hello there,

I've applied for my study permit visa to Canada since 29-05-2018 and till today I didn't get my Visa.

I've applied online using GCKEY, my application stuck at the BACKGROUND CHECK step.

I've submitted the web form many times they always reply as "We are processing your application and we don't have any estimate when it will be finalized". I will miss the beginning of my study in September.

Does anyone have the same situation? or any pieces of advice regarding withdrawing the online application and resubmitted paper-based one since my friend (from Egypt) applied using the paper application and got his visa in 10 days.

I'm in the same situation, applied on June 15th, semester starts in September. Going to miss the first few days. I'm from India so reapplying offline will take long for me. Maybe it's faster wherever you are to apply offline..

Thanks for your reply.

My concern is about the possibility of reapplying since there will be a duplication, Is that will be allowed? Theoretically, the online is faster but it is not as we witnessed.

From my understanding, you can only reapply after you delete the online application.. idk really:(

Make sure your school actually allows you to miss those days.

I dont think everyone gets a background check so your application might have been flagged for extra check, I dont think applying again would speed anything up.
