I am an international student in toronto pursuing my study in 1st semester. Now I am planning to move to saskatchewan for work. can I change my study permit to work permit without completing my study. is it necessary to complete study??

If your employer applied LMIA for you, you can get work permit without completing your studies. Otherwise if you want to apply PGWP, you must finish your studies.

actually my employer has not applied yet. there are some confusion in my mind as I am a student on study permit and doing course related to IT field and I am getting LMIA from food industry...so is it ok with that? or I have to get LMIA from IT industry only....and also since I have not completed my stdy yet, will there be any problem in future by CIC when I will apply for pr?

LMIA is the process that employer shows the position can't be filled with Canadian citizen or PR so that employer should have to hire a foreigner.
You studied IT but apply for LMIA for food industry, which may reduce your chance dramatically to get LMIA since your background doesn't match the position needs.

LMIA is issued by Service Canada, the concept is that employer made effort to recruit Canadian citizen and permanent resident but failed and a foreigner has education/background/experience to take this position, and issue LMIA to let foreigner to apply work permit.

if i get a job offer letter from an employer in alberta when i am on open work permit.....so when i get job does it converts to close work permit??? or it remains the same (means open work permit)

and after that suppose i applied for PNP in alberta....but before my file gets processed assume that my work permit expires......so can i apply to extend it??

1. No, open work permit stays, in order to get closed work permit you need LMIA or your employer is LMIA exempt.

2. You need to get Alberta PNP approved and you can apply PNP work permit or Bridging work permit

I searched a lot but there are a lot of confusing titles on google.

I found a friend that he has a construction company (home renewal, ...) and he says if it is possible I can give you a job offer based on your experience.
I just want to ask you to see is it possible to switch my visa status based on this job offer or not?

Your friend needs to file for a LMIA. He needs to show that he posted the job being offered for at least a month of various sites and that he could not hire a Canadian or PR. Once he pays $1k and files for the LMIA then you wait. Processing can take months. Once you have LMIA, you file for closed work permit and you show through employment letters that you can do the job. Again you wait - 5 to 6 months.

Thank you for your response, you mean I need to wait almost 6-7 months totally?
do you know any other option that I can change my study to work permit sooner?
