Study permit to work permit

Hi guys,

I would like to find out that if i am currently on valid study permit but i got myself a job offer. So i would not want to finish my study and want to start working as soon as possible. Can I cancel my full time study permit to Open work permit ?

I believe so. You can do that, talk to an immigration consultant about that. And talk to the employer about that too.

No, you can't take open work permit. You require a positive LMO before applying for your Temporary Work permit. Remember a positive LMO doesn't guarantee a work permit.

Thank you for your reply. So, I should need a positve LMO to apply for a closed work permit right?
Can i apply while i am in Canada ( currently on study permit) and will they automatically cancel my study permit once if granted work permit ?

1. Yes, you require LMO.
2. Yes, you SP will become invalid when you get WP, you can apply for WP online or to CPC Vegreville..

Hi Inam89 and all forumer,

Can I apply my work permit through ONLINE (myCIC) if I have positve LMO? and I do not have any visa to US, will the application of work permit through online will need me to go to Canada Embassy in US for the work permit ?? This issues made me worry. I do not know whether to apply my work permit while I'm in Canada or outside of Canada, which is a better options and less hassle. Guys please share your thought and advice me on this.
