Hello guyz,

I applied for my study permit renewal from inside canada in January 28th and till now waiting for the outcome. I understand the processing time is now 48/49 days and my 49 days are not done yet. I was wondering if anyone applied for renewal around that time and either got the result or waiting for it.

thanks for your answers.

regards

for how long was your extension?

I have to renew mine too...

hope someone can answer your question

Shouldn't be any need to worry about the delay, as long as you applied inside Canada before your expiry period (CIC's official stance is 30 days) You will have implied status.

I applied for an extension online for mine around May 2013 and didn't receive the new visa until after I had graduated in August :P

I didn't really send a whole lot of information with my application, other than a letter from the school expecting my program to be completed in the next semester with degree commencement in January (I finished earlier with summer classes) and they extended it til March; so it was essentially 10 months from the date the application was filed. In my case CIC was generous with a little extra visa time, but I am a US Citizen so I'm not sure if that was an influence on their decision.

As long as you provided proof for the remaining period of study, I'm sure they'll accommodate for it.

In my offer letter the uni mentioned that the longest time i can tale to complete my course in uni is up to 2018.

So i put that date on my application. I hope they will approve that.

Sorry for my late reply.

The problem is, once i get my study permit then i have to apply for the visa. And without visa i can leave canada but cant make the entry. And i was planning to visit home country if i get the visa asap.

I dont know whats going on with them, but the required processing time shown in their website is keep increasing every week.

No generosity but you got extra 90 days for PGWP application. A standard rule.
