Study Permit Renew and Re-Entry

Hi Everyone, Please help! My study permit is expiring next month. I have applied for a new permit as i am continuing my studies. Now i need to leave Canada and go back for a month or so. My visa is expiring next month as well.When i get the new study permit, automatically i am authorized to stay here. But that staus document does not usually permits the re-entry into Canada.
Question: should i apply for a new visa before i leave Canada or i should wait till i get the new permit then apply for a multiple entry visa?
Also, can i apply for a new visa from Vegreville or it has to go to Seattle?

1. Would be much easier to have TRV from Canada. And, opposite from your homeland.
2. Apply online at Vegreville, CPC.
3. Must have a valid study permit and TRV at the time of entering Canada.

You can apply on the basis of a current and valid study permit.

Rules have changed just 24 hours back. Now, the OP can apply for extended study permit + TRV (as he already hold the study permit) at CPP-O.

For TRV, you have to apply to Seattle, not Veggrevile or Ottawa or whatever. They only deal with study/work permits.

As per new provisions, the person holding a valid study/work permit can apply for a TRV inside Canada at CPP-O.

Baxa - when you do not know something, don't confuse others! Here is the quote from the newest operations bulletin: "Instructions

As of May 29, 2012, clients from visa required countries residing in Canada and holding a valid study or work permit may apply for a visitor visa counterfoil at CPP-O.

Procedures

Applicants should submit an Application for Temporary Resident Visa to CPP-O. Instructions on how to apply can be found at the following website.

Applicants should be encouraged to apply for a multiple entry visa.

The completed application will be processed as per the usual procedures applied to visitor visa applications at other visa offices abroad, including the requirement of an interview as necessary. "
