Study Permit rejected for "acceptance letter" ? please help!

Hi:

I would be so grateful if any of you would give me some suggestions on this:

My study permit application has been rejected, they did not give me any specific reason, but ticked this box:

have (not) submitted written documentation from the educational institution at which you intend to study
that states that you have been accepted to study there

The problem is that I definitely have uploaded my letter of acceptance on the system.

Now I can only think of two reasons I am rejected on this:

1. The acceptance letter I uploaded was the electronic version the university sent me, it is a PDF file instead of the paper version they sent me later. The visa officer might want the version the university sent me by mail only?

2. I got accepted in the British Columbia University as an unclassified student, which means I will be doing undergraduate courses but not towards a degree, only for credits. It is like a visiting student, the study period is between September to April next year. I am not sure if the nature of this study concerns the visa officer, so I wrote a letter of explanation and gave them full details of my intention and motivation of doing so: I am 22 and have finished undergraduate study in the university of manchester (UK), however my GPA was a bit less than 3.0 (shame), I would like to do some credit courses at a different university to upgrade for postgraduate studies (with current GPA my choice is very limited) Choosing UBC was because 1) it's a very good uni 2)my bf is studying in Canada as well.
=======================================================================

If It is reason 1 that I am rejected, it should be no problem if I re-apply and use the paper version of the school letter.
But if it's 2, things would be a lot harder and I am not sure what to do.

I also noticed this information on the official website :

There are activities that do not require a study permit. Generally, a study permit is not required for:

following audit courses (where a student is permitted to attend an academic course without obtaining credits);

I am studying for credits though, just not for a degree. I am not sure I fall into this category. If I do, should I apply for a visitor visa instead? because if it "does not require a study permit" I assume it requires a visitor visa which allows you to study there.

However, visitor visa only allow you to stay there for 6 month Max, while my study length is around 8 months.

I am so confused and seriously need help. If you have any ideas on this, please let me know, many thanks!

I see you have already requested a review of the decision (sent them a mail or got in contact with them). See what their response is. Somehow there was something wrong with the paper itself, or something.
Eventually ask them if that "unclassified student" identity is an issue. They might want you to receive a degree/diploma when you graduate?
I am pretty sure you don't fall into the "just visiting" category as you ARE there for credits. Proper study visa is required, in my opinion, even if its only a few months long.

I do not think that they rejected you because of the acceptance letter, as far as I know the digital acceptance letter is as acceptable as hard copy!!! Anyone could correct me if I`m wrong.

So you gotta print it and send the physical file along with passport when CIC asks for documents??? ('cause I see he applied online on myCic) This interests me 'cause I don't want surprises either when I apply. Although I am considering applying physically to my embassy here. Any opinions? I know processing times differ but what's the surest/safest route. online or physical?

Thanks,
Sandra

Don't you see it on your Mycic account? What is in your application and what is not?
Yeah I can see my application profile, and my acceptance letter is indeed there.

Hi,

I got accepted to Algonquin, the info is there but it looks nothing like this. Good to know. We should contact them to complete this form, I guess.
but then again, they should know of this. I mean they have had international students before, right?
