But I wonder as to why they aren't straightforward.They should have told me the reason(s) so that I will just go and apply to a different country.

You should be receiving something in your email. You will only get general reasons for refusal. You only got a refusal very recently so there hasn’t been much time wasted.

This is the catch-I reapplied for study permit after a rejection.But then on 6th May they sent me a biometric validity letter.On 9th May they sent back my application package minus LOA,my study plan and my academic credentials.

They also returned my friend's application in the same manner but told him to get additional document(s) after sometime.
