Me too,,,I just got a message from CIC for my study permit application and the result 'refused' they did not say the reason. I'm going to attend the course in Pacific Institute Culinary of Arts this coming Sept. I have no plan to stay also in Canada after I completed my training. I just wanna study in Canada and pursue my career in Culinary and I am planning to have my own restaurant or bakery back home in Taiwan. I have cancelled my application in LCB Paris and I thought Vancouver is the best place to study and pursuing my career in Culinary world. But it seems is not hard to apply the study permit. I have no plans to find a job or work in Canada and my family are here in Taiwan and I live well when in comes in financial. I dont have to go to work. However my kids are growing soon they will leave our house and I am starts thinking having business. I have no experienced to run the kitchen or bakery. So I thought I have to go to school and learned.And I choose to study abroad and experienced the life in Canada while I am studying. I have been in Canada before as a tourist but I don't understand why they refuses my application.

I am sorry to hear that, you better reapply with a strong SOP and dont forget to apply for CAIPS

I did not supply a SOP with my application- I didn't even know about it. So I am going to apply again, with a SOP explaining everything and with as much extra information as possible. I just wish I knew exactly what they wanted!

Reapply as soon as possible with a letter of explanation that you mention here. There are many ways to write an SOP, you can also write it answering these questions:

1. Why do you wish to study in Canada in the program for which you have been accepted?

2. What is your overall educational goal?

3. Why are you not pursuing a similar program in your country of residence or citizenship?

4. How will this program enhance your employment opportunities in your country of residence or citizenship?

5. What ties do you have to your country of residence or citizenship?

6. If it has been more than two years since you have left full-time education, please provide your C.V.

7. In the case of a minor applicant, what are your reasons for wishing to study in Canada? What is your parents or guardians immigration status in their current country of residence?

status has changed to Visa application, tracking

does it mean rejection or can i get passport
with visa and loi when i collect it
