Hello, I recently applied for a Canadian study permit and I was refused. The reason for refusal was that the officer wasn’t sure that I’d return at the end of my visit due to purpose of visit. I provided enough documents to support my application, acceptance letter, receipt of my first semester tuition fee which had already been paid for, I also stated that I would return at the end of my stay in my explanatory letter (which I actually intend to, i returned home after I completed my first degree in the UK and I also intend to do the same as I have future plans to invest in my home country). I don’t understand if I was refused because I applied to study a diploma course in Canada even though I already had a first degree in biomedical science in the UK. I would like to apply for masters directly but i don’t have the required grade for direct masters.

Please I need advice on what I need to do differently so my application won’t be refused again.

Did you enclose any properties under your name as a strong tie to your home country??

... and also I'm not sure if you have mentioned in your SOP that how this particular program will help you develop future business opportunities. Also a Genuine letter from an employer who you might've been working recently can help if mentioned you will be most welcome to get back on your post once you complete your study abroad.

No I didn’t but I included my parent’s properties, bank statement and a sponsor letter from my parent. I am a recent graduate and I don’t not have the finance to sponsor myself so I currently depend on my parents.

Yes I mentioned in my SOP how the postgraduate diploma will help my future career. I also stated the reason I chose to study the course which is different from my undergraduate degree as my postgraduate diploma. I did mention that I would have applied for a master degree in the course I picked for diploma but I couldn’t because I did not achieve a grade that is enough to study a direct master degree in Canada, my undergraduate grade is 0.4 lower.

You should go for post graduate at least, also get caips notes before reapplying.[/QUOTE

I applied for years postgraduate diploma, my older sister applied for the same course after her undergraduate degree and she was granted a study permit. I don’t know why my own case is different.
