At the moment, I'm studying English in an ESL school for 4 months (April to July). I'm planning to go to college afterwards. I already received a conditional offer and paid the tuition fee.
However, when I first got into Canada (in late March) I forgot to show the letter of introduction from the visa office. I thought it was okay since I don't need a study permit for a program that lasts less than 6 months. Also, I'm going back to Brazil in July and coming to Canada again in early September, so I thought I could simply get my study permit in September.
But both my visa and letter of introduction expire on September 30, 2016. So I'd need to ask for an extension on my study permit and I wouldn't have time enough before it expires, considering I'd get it only in September.
I was then, told to go to Buffalo NY and come back to Canada in order to get my study permit. But the official wouldn't issue my study permit. Because my parents are the ones paying my tuition fees and accommodation, the official told me I'd need to bring a proof of financial support (and if it was a bank statement from my parents' account, it would need to be translated into English) and a letter from my parents.
Obviously, I don't wanna waste another trip to the USA. Can anyone help me exactly how am I supposed to show proof of financial support? The Canadian government website says that “proof of payment of tuition and accommodation fees” is a way of proving it. Is my receipt proving that I already paid my tuition for my first semester enough? If not, I'd need to take a bank statement from my parents' account and a letter from them, right? How is this letter supposed to be and does it need to have a manual signature or is it ok if my father signs it and scan it so I can print here instead of receiving by mail? (which would take a long time)
