Study Permit not issued at PoE

Hi,

I landed at the airport and the visa officer said he will send study permit by courier as his system is down. I left the airport not knowing that it could have serious implications. My college started on Sep 6 and the last date to attend the classes is Sep 12 or else they will force me to defer to next year. Will I be allowed to attend class without submitting study permit (Humber College) on Monday?

Or do I have to 'flag pole' and get it?

Call CIC @ 18882422100 choose option 3, then 4 and finally 0. Tell them the whole thing what you wrote above and ask some sort of a confirmation or verification number of the study permit. Have you school call them too for confirmation as well when you get thay number. Since you're in Canada can you do me a favour; when you're speaking to the CIC agent can you ask if there is some technical or online problem thats causing delay in study permit of all and most applicants or is it something unique to you... would you do that for me please?

Since it is a Saturday, there won't be any luck calling them today. Make the call on Monday right after 8 am, the earlier the better because the call volumes can rise and the system would stop putting you in call queue.

I contacted the college and they said I can attend the classes and submit it the documentation later.

Regardless of what the college says, you cannot study in Canada without a study permit. Flagpole and get your permit.

The officer said he issued the permit in that day itself but wasn't able to print it due to system issue. If u don't receive it today, then I plan to flagpole and get it.

Update: study permit received in mail as promised by the visa officer (but after 4 days). The issue date was the same date as the date of entry into Canada.
