Study permit inland applicant sent wrong form: Urgent!

I applied for a study permit (this is my second study permit) and it seems the lawyer filled out the wrong form so they forwarded my application from the visa processing application centre in LA to the Canadian consulate in LA because they do not process the form I had sent. Has anyone gone through something like this? The lawyer filled out the form to change condition and remain in Canada as a student.

I am not sure why they did not just send the application back to me for me to fill in the right form but sent it to the consulate in LA.

Do you think they will be able to process the forms? I have a family emergency and was looking to leave like first week of July but need my study permit and re entry processed. The consulate unfortunately does not have a number I can call but just an email, I have sent an email and i am hoping they will respond early next week.

1) Call CIC to cancel the application (not sure if they will let you do it)
2) When does your current study permit expires? If it haven't expired yet, apply asap to a study permit prorogation ONLINE (takes about 20 days). Include an explanation letter explaining that you sent the wrong form etc etc., please cancel the other one and process this one.
3) If your study permit expired already, and you are still withing the 90 days, restore your status.
4) Do not leave the country without study permit. You will not be able to come back, unless you are from visa exempt countries.
5) How can your lawyer mistake your form? What's his name? I don,t think he is a lawyer, maybe an immigration consultant. Don,t even trust immigration consultants, but lawyers are your best friend.

I had applied for a work permit which got rejected so I restored my status as a a visitor. I have the visitor visa till September 2016.

The application was sent to LA and forwarded to the consulate so I don't think that I can call and cancel. I am trying to figure out if they will process it or if they will send it back to me.

Where are you from?

When you are visitor in Canada, you can't apply from within Canada. You can't go from visitor visa to student visa. You will need to apply from abroad, or apply online while indicating in all the forms and docs as if you were applying from your country of citizenship.

Usually visitors in Canada applying to study permits and send the applications to LA have very little success rates. I think in your situation you should evaluate your whole situation before making a decision to go back to your country. You also need to describe more about your situation
