I am an international student from China, who failed first term engineering. I applied for a non degree term to change my major to computer science and the cut required was 80% in the CS subjects. I don't think I'll make the cut now. Can I apply for any other college/university for the winter term? If yes, which ones are better and how do I apply now?
I'm really stressed out by this, help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Which college are u studying in ?

You can apply to transfer if that's what you're asking. No one is stopping you from doing that. Whether you get accepted or not is a different matter entirely.

Forget about looking for a university better or similar to waterloo, the good ones will most likely not accept you after failing first term engineering. Also, not many accept transfer applications for winter entry.

I'd highly suggest staying at Waterloo if you can manage it.

If you do decide to transfer, possible choices could be Simon Fraser, Thompson Rivers, UBC Okanagan

I mean I had to withdraw, can I stay one term here and apply to another college/uni? Or will my study permit become Invalid?/Will I be deported because I am not studying for a term.

CIC hasn't released any rules specifically for students being asked to withdraw.

When you apply to extend your study permit, you will have to explain the situation then and hope they understand. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

You have no choice except to hope for the best when you eventually apply.
