Study Permit - I need to provide an Employment Letter

Hello

I applied for study permit from within Saudi Arabia online on March 3, 2016. I already had provided all the required documents. Few days ago CIC asked to provide my transcripts and an employment letter.

The following is their request:

*****This refers to your application for a Canadian study permit . In order for us to continue the processing of your application, we require the following documents:
 Education Transcripts: education transcripts
 Employment Letter: An official document printed on company letterhead stating that you, are an employee.
This must be received at this office by: 2016/04/19 *****

Kindly note that I am a scholar student sponsored from my home country Jordan to be specific from one of the public universities. I applied from within Saudi because I am working as a lecturer in a public university in here. I already submitted the sponsorship letter that covers a monthly stipend, tuition fees, medical insurance, etc in addition to a bank letter from jordan that I have a balance of 100K USD.

My question: the requested employment letter does it mean the current employment? or an employment inside Canada? I really confused!

It means an employment letter from your current employer. It actually shows your ties that you will get back upon completion of studies in Canada.

Thanks Mustafa for your reply. But I won't be back to Saudi once I finished my studies. I must be back to Jordan to serve in the sponsoring university.

That's really made me confused. Especially that the i button next to the document that is needed to be uploaded specified that the letter must be from Canada.

1. Letter should be from your current/previous employer outside of Canada.
2. Submission of employment letter doesn't mean if you will return to Jordan or Saudi Arabia (incorrect assumption). It's only a part of your profile.

One has to submit employment letter of the current employment and financial statements (preferably bank statements, saving certificates) or any other property, car, etc etc. The employment letter and financial proof is usually required irrespective of scholarships.

Can I get employment letter from my team lead or manager instead of the HR because they gonna provide it easily and can also recommend me by saying they will love to have me back on their team after my masters degree.

Would such letter be good.

Or do I need to get two seperate letters like employmebt letter from HR and recommendation letter from my team lead.

Why you want recommendation letter for visa and study permit?
You only have to provide an employment letter from HR confirming your current job joining etc etc.

Recommendation would make the VO feel that my current company would hire me again my studies.
It would be like that I have a job waiting for me.

VO only needs letter that are from the designated officer of the company or university. The designated officer is the person who is responsible to deal with the matters of hiring such as HR. Unless something comes from the designated officer it is of no importance to the VO.
You can send as many recommendation letters you want if you want, but the VO decision would be based on the designated officer letter only.
