Hi, I’m an Italian student and I’ve been selected from my institution in Italy to attend a double degree program in Canada starting on January 2021. As part of the program, all the tuition fees will be covered by my institution, so I will have to pay only the living expenses. I still don’t know how much I will need to cover the living expenses since me and the other selected students are still looking for an accommodation.
So, I was wondering what kind of document do I have to submit as a proof of funds?

Okey thank you so much! One last question, regarding the bank statement can I use my father’s one?
Your father should write a declaration of sponsorship containing how much I had in savings and how much I earned gross and net each year and details of other income. I did this for my daughter. I provided proof it's my daughter and that we live in a household. I provided proof I had enough in the bank to cover all 4 years of tuition (10k), residence+food (10k) and added on extra of 10k = 30k for the year X 4 years = 120k. I also provided the last tax declaration and payslips as well as bank account proofs of savings. You should however provide proof of first year, but the university recommended to supply proof for entire study period so I did. The more the better but make the proofs 1) relevant and 2) concise as possible. The visa officer has only a few minutes each case and therefore make their life easier to make a decision on finances.
