Hi all need help. As per the link https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/application-forms-guides/guide-5552-applying-change-conditions-extend-your-stay-canada-student.html a student can apply from within Canada if they have done a short term course which is a pre-requisite for admission to a DLI. Would ESL count as a pre-requisite course if applicants IELTS is low?

What program at a university or college have you been accepted to where your IELTS score is too low? IELTS needs to be a pre-requisite for an academic program. For example, you want to take a 4-month ELS course and then a 3 yr academic program at a DLI. You are conditionally accepted to the 3 yr program and you need to successfully complete the ESL course as a pre-requisite to your enrolment to the program.

Yes the ESL has been completed. DLI has issued a letter of acceptance based on the ESL score. Can a Study Permit application be put through from Canada itself? The applicant is in Canada and wants to apply for study permit

So you have successfully completed a short (less than 6 month) ESL course to show you meet the prerequisites? If so, you can apply from within Canada showing that you met the conditions of acceptance and now have the level of IELTS required to start the program.
