Study permit for second 1 year masters

Hi guys,
I am enrolled for one year MEng program and thinking of taking another one year program at different DLI after completing this MEng program.
In this case, for second one year program, do I have to apply for new study permit or I will have to apply for study permit extension?
If there is need for new study permit, what will be the chances of approval of study permit? Is it low? Do many people apply? Is it too risky?

You may need to extend your study permit if it is going to expire, and update your DLI online. Any application can always be refused if they do not think you have sufficient funds or ties to your home country.
