Hello. I'm 26 years old and working as a lawyer in Turkey since 2018. I want to study in Toronto and I obtained a letter of acceptance from a college in Toronto for International Business & Management program. The school is in the approved DLI's list. The program is a one-year program and it consists of six-month study term and six-month cooperative work. The program will start in the end of March 2021. I have close relative in Toronto who will provide the accommodation and I have enough funds to cover the other expenses including the tuition fee. How you see my chances of obtaining a study permit? Thanks in advance.

What are your ties to your home country? Why can't you study there? Are you a Turkish citizen? How is a course in business relevant to the fact that you're a lawyer?

All of these questions are relevant to your application.

Yes, I am a Turkish citizen. I can argue some reasons for studying business in Canada as a lawyer, one being that I want to pursue a career as an in-house counsel and afterwards, be involved in companies' management, being a board member can be one example.

I don't know about others but would be very skeptical if I was the visa officer. Going from Law to diploma in business to be board member? Doesn't seem right
