Hi,

I am 43 yrs old,a single mom and had been to canada in 2014 on a student visa but had to leave my studies in between and come back to india due to a lot of personal issue.

I now wanna know that if i try for a student visa will i get it? And even if i do,do i have chances of applying for express entry after a 1 yr program,i shall be 45 by then, and what about PR,would i stand a chance
Your help will be appreciated

No one can tell you your chances as your program must show education and career advancement to justify costs. For PR, you need to calculate your CRS score and see if you would be close to an invitation. Because of your age, you will not get any points for age so you may not even be eligible with 67 points. And if you are, you want a CRS score of around 480. Again because of age, not sure if you would be that high unless you have a PhD and are fluent in French. Also, the government may go to a NOC based draw with in-demand NOCs. The NOCs are not yet known. Coming to Canada on a study permit at your age will not guarantee PR. So if you are wiling to study in Canada knowing you may not get PR then that is your decision.

Thank u for the swift repsonse, assuming i get 0 points for age,can i compensate that by a fantastic score in English and French Lang tests? Also, what if i have work permit? I am sorry not sure if this is the right forum for this question, the aim basically is PR after 43!

Again, you need to calculate your CRS scores. Since you are fluent then that will certainly help. Don’t know your education or language scores. Do you mean PGWP? You need skilled work experience for at least a year in Canada. However, overall your age will bring down your score drastically because you get 0 points.

The short answer is that there's no guarantee you'll be successful in getting PR after your studies in Canada. So you'll need to be prepared to roll the dice and know there's a possibility you won't get PR at the end.
