Study Permit extension

Hello all,

I am going to extent my study permit till 2013. I prepared all the documents to send electronically except my passport which I still wait for reneval. The problem is that my current permit is going to expire at the end of Nov and I will get my new passport around 10th of Nov. I noticed at CIC website that I should send my application at least 30 days before expire. Is it better to apply now with my old passport which is expiring on July or should I wait for the new passport and apply for the study permit extension 20 days before expiration.

1. As long as you apply before your status expires, you are fine. 30 days is just a suggestion, as long as the application is received in Vegreville before status expires, means you are still legal.
