Study Permit Extension

My study permit expires on 30th July and need to apply for an extension. CIC website suggests to apply for an extension at least 30 days before expiry. But I am not in Canada at the moment due to family emergency. I will be landing in Canada on 23rd July. Will I be in trouble if I apply for the extension after I reach Canada?

Not at all...As long as you are applying before the expired date you should be good
