Study permit extension to finish the placement hours

hi all,
please help me here.

I have study permit expiring in Nov 2024. My study completion was in Aug this year.
Unfortunately, I am unable to complete my placement hours so college give me till Dec 2024 to complete it.

I could not find the placement this semester also so college ask me to finish the placement as a part time student from Jan 2025 to April 2025.
I am still register in online placement course but can not do placement on site.
Can I still work off campus 20 hours during this time?

Can I extend my study permit till April 2025?

If Aug is your placement term and you are unable to complete it, are you "actively studying"?
And if you have been part time since, you may not get PGWP (if you were expecting) since you have been part time for not only the final term.

College gave me an extension letter that I am full time till Dec 24 but I could not complete the placement. now college is saying I will be a part time student from Jan 25 to finish my remaining placement.
so there is a confusion if I can work part time now? as I am not doing placement but still registered in the college as a full time student.

If the college knows that you are not doing the placement and still accept you as a full time student, then well in theory you can work part time. BUT don't take my words... I think you need to wait for more senior members to reply.

I wonder if IRCC knows that collages are giving student full time status when they are not studying nor doing placement.

You have to be enrolled in some course or placement term to be full time student. Normally, if you don't have a placement you won't be earning any credit so you are not enrolled. Clarify it with your school first as that's your bigger issue. If and once you confirm, you are a full time student, you can work part-time while applying for extension.
