study permit extension rejected

Hello sir.
I applied for a study permit extension for one more year..my application rejected.
Reason:
Valid passport or travel document not provided
..
I did provide everything. Including passport..and other documents. .

What should i do now?
Can i challenge this or i have to apply for restoration?
Please help me soon.

I got a message from cic that please provide the passport or travel document. I uploaded the pdf photocopy of passport .. how come they are saying passport or travel document not provided?

I am so confused and nervous..please help.

i am not sure but u can look into applying for extension again if ur study permit is valid still....

Omg they wanted me to rescan the passport..i sent the same copy which sent before. .what should be done now? Can i ask them that i can resend it or i have to go restoration?

joyparreno had the same situation and he wrote a letter of complaint explaining that he attached his travel document when he applied for the extension of WP. The officer later overruled the decision and issued a new WP. So don't rush to apply for restoration and pay $325, because that's what this person did, but he didn't have to wait that long to get his status restored, because it was not his fault that they didn't receive his passport scan, it was a technical problem on their part. So he got a WP anyways, but wasted a lot of money for needless restoration. But if you made a mistake and didn't attach your passport, then you would need to apply for restoration of your status.

you are very welcome.

CIC agent can write a letter on your behalf to the officer, they did so when my husband was rejected a study permit because there was no place to attach our marriage certificate to prove that he could apply from within Canada.

I am not sure how that other person wrote his letter of complaint but read his posts and maybe try to contact him.

Hope it all works for you! I just know these things happen, so no reason to worry, just explain what happened to CIC agent and if one says he cant' help, call again and talk to another CIC agent, some of them are really helpful and will go an extra mile to resolve a problem, while others will just tell you what their textbook says.

I will encourage you to scan and upload first and last 5 pages of your passport. You do not need to apply for restoration if you are still within the expiry deadline. Similarly, no need to send passport in original.

In the site Application to Change Conditions or Extend Your Stay in Canada as a Student (I am not allowed to post links) you will see IMM 5555 pdf file... inside it you can check this information:

PHOTOCOPIES of passport pages clearly showing the passport number, the dates of issue and expiry, name and date of birth, the stamp made by Canadian authorities on your most recent entry into Canada and any other marked pages

and

PHOTOCOPY of your valid return ticket (if you have one)

Check if you sent all the information of the CIC Agent needs, like passport number, dates, stamps, etc...
After that, theck if the travel document that he is talking about is the valid return ticket, if it is, let he knows about that pdf file and tell him that is an optional requisit =)
