I am an international student who have been studied in Canada for two years. My study permit expires on July 31 so I sent an application on July.
However, my application has been rejected as

Immigration Legislation requires that an application for a study permit be accompanied by a
letter from a university, college or other institution accepting the applicant to attend or to take
any course at that institution. The letter should be recently issued and should outline the
 type of course of study or program you are registered for,
 the start date and the expected completion date, and
 whether the program is full-time or part-time studies.

I wonder what does that mean? I have applied for study permit extension in Feb and it was approved(I asked for two months but given four). If it is the letter of acceptance I need, I already have it in the system.
If it is something else, shouldn't I be requested of additional files during the application? I checked the application and found no such messages.

This results in my temporary residence status expiring. As I can't register for the next semester, how could I get files I need for the application of restore residence status?
Please help me, I am very confused and nerves right now.

As for my grade, I came here with full scholarship, but later chose to switch project to course-based since my original project gets cancelled. In that semester(2013 Fall), because of struggling in funding and being depressed, I failed two courses. But other than that, my other courses are either A or A+. Would that effect my application?

Thank you very much.

Your university will provide a new Acceptance letter in my University also called as Student Status letter will includes all the info required for SP extension.

1. There are 2 types of letters: 'Letter of Registration' and 'Letter of Acceptance'; you need a latest LOA for SP/Visa purpose.

Thank you for replying.
I know it is stupid to ask, but since you mentioned new Acceptance letter, would you possibly know how long would it take to process the application of restore of status, like in general?

I am afraid that those two failed courses would make me a not so genuine student.

So the stuff they requested is not the original letter of acceptance.
Hmm, I do hope they would notify me somehow during the application.

1. There is no processing timeline for restoration cases, shouldn't take more than 3 months. Your option: apply for both extension & restoration.

Hi,

Though my study permits has already expired. Isn't it supposed to be rejected anyway?

So after failing the two courses, you showed this to CIC and you were then approved for a 4 month extension?

It is a sad joke, lol.

No, I was not asked to provide my scores in the first time.
That's why I am confused with the file CIC asked for.

Cheers

Did you attach the new acceptance letter from your school? Without new acceptance letter, CIC can refuse your study permit extension.

When did you submit your application?

You missed your LETTER OF ACCEPTANCE (or LETTER OF ENROLLMENT). Ask your school for that
