It fits in a mailbox; it is just a letter like the one you get from any government agency.
Perfect. Thanks a lot!

Would you also know if I can work full time if I am enrolled full time this summer semester? I've read an article that says if it's essential and something about supply chain you can work full time until August 2020, but it doesn't say if it applies to those enrolled FT this summer.

I've never had to work full time in the summers, but you should be provided the summer is considered a scheduled break in your program and you will be a full time student in the fall semester. If summer is not a scheduled break then you'd have to find a job in an essential service sector to qualify for the 40hr Wk

Thank you for your reply - was very helpful. For the bank statements as financial proof, would it be suffice to just download the transaction from a certain period online or is it important I have to get the official bank statement with a seal and sign from the teller/bank rep?
Yeah, I had CIBC confirmation receipts through email. I just included that + bank balance as well as my school account balance. Because, I like to be meticulous I even created an excel spreadsheet to outline all my costs that I would incur in a year.

I don't think Summer is a scheduled break for my program but yeah I'll enroll FT in the Fall.

I am looking for essential svc sector for sure so I can work FT :) Just wanted to make sure if what I read was valid.

Do we know how to renew SIN after study permit extension, provided Service Canada locations are closed ?

I just used one from online both times I extended, but I also had proof of funding from my university, so I'm not sure if I actually needed to prove anything further (i.e. it's possible it was just ignored). So I can't comment on whether it would be sufficient on it's own.

I got my SP in the mail today.

Should I request to update the expiry of my SIN now OR wait til July? They don't change the number, just the expiry right?

much better to update it now. For me I called service canada and they gave me a link to update/renew my sin online and upload supporting documents.

You have options: by mail or through online
