Study permit extension concerns

Hello,
I
travelled to my home country and got stuck due to the current situation. There were no flights, I bought 3 tickets and all of them got cancelled. My study permit expired April 1st, I applied for study permit extension on March 30th. When applying, I used my Canadian address and applied like as I were in Canada. I read on some post that is fine? That someone can mail it to me once it is approved? Can anyone please confirm that wouldn’t be a problem? I plan to apply for TRV once I get the Study permit extended.

Another question, after I applied for extension. The next day I got a mail from CIC about update in my application status. When I checked, it showed:

• We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.’

Does that mean they already started processing my application? Or is it normal now and I’ll have to wait for the estimated processing time?
I am sorry for so many questions, it will be really appreciated if someone can answer them. I am really worried.

Just for clarity as expect others will ask as well why did you leave it until March 30 to apply for an extension to a permit April 1st did you simply forget or simply always planned it that way despite fact you would have know about the xpiry date for months beforehand ?

I honestly forgot about it, I thought it was valid till 2021 but then upon checking I found out it was till 2020. I know it sounds very naive. Can you please shed some answer on that? Will my study permit be extended?
