Hi everyone,

My question is related to renewing a study permit when changing schools.
I'm currently in Canada and enrolled as a student in a DLI. My study permit expires on March 31, 2019.
I do not plan to complete my current program and so I've decided to switch colleges. I've been accepted to a different college starting September 3, 2019. Naturally, my current study permit will be expired by then, but I want to stay in Canada during this time gap (March 2019 - September 2019). I don't plan to work neither part-time or full-time, I'm just interested in keeping my student status intact.

I'm worried that if I don't take any courses next semester (winter), or even next summer semester, I'll have to big of a gap between my studying. I'm 100% committed to start studying come September, though. Will I be able to secure study permit & stay in Canada legally based on just the university I'm transferring to? Or do I need to apply for study extension with my current college and continue studying, and then apply for another study permit extension with my new university?

I'd appreciate your help!
