Hello, I recently applied for study permit extension (about 2 month ago) and I would like to travel outside of Canada.
There is no in-person class until next year so I hope I can go back to my home country and come back after the university start in-person class.

My current study permit will be expire end of this July. Can I leave Canada about more than 4 month during the study permit extension process?
I am not sure there will be some problems if I leave Canada during this process.

Thank you

Yes, you can leave, but if you filed inside of Canada, the physical Study Permit will be mailed to the address that you provided inside Canada. Furthermore, what is the expiration of your TRV (if you have one?). If it corresponds directly with the Study Permit, you will need to obtain a new one overseas before you can travel back (even if you have the new Study Permit mailed to you).

If your TRV is valid for longer than your current Study Permit, I would just find a way to have it mailed to you and then apply for the TRV overseas once the VACs open. If you're visa-exempt, then you would simply forgo the TRV application.

Thank you for the reply. I have several more questions.

My country and Canada are affiliated with visa exempt program so will the ETA enough for re-entry? or should I apply for new TRV for re-entry?
At the first time, when I applied for the study permit extension, I put the Canadian address for the physical stud permit document. Can I use the IRCC webform to ask changing the mailing address? If this won't work, what I should do for the study permit document? I'm just worried when I come back to Canada, if I don't have the study permit document ,even if my study permit application approved, the border agency will not allowed to let me in.
Or providing the UCI number will be fine?

If you're visa-exempt you should be fine. ETA will suffice.

CBSA will see from your UCI that you have a valid Study Permit. You can simply explain that it was issued while you were away. Given the circumstances, they should understand. They may want to confirm that the program is still being offered and that you still have valid means to study.
