Your situation is very similar to mine. I also applied for a study permit extension on October 17, and my previous permit expired at the end of November. I finished my courses in mid-December and am waiting for my new study permit to apply for the PGWP. My application is also still in the background check stage. However, I’m very sure that during this time, you can work normally since you are on implied status. But I’m not sure if you can directly apply for the PGWP. Right now, I’m waiting for my college’s completion letter while also waiting for my new study permit. I’ve already prepared all the other materials for the PGWP application.I applied for my extention on 24th Oct, still waiting on approval. My study permit expired on the 27th of November 2024.
Although i finished with my program in December 2024, im in dire need of the approval as i do not want to apply for my PGWP on Maintained status which mean i wont be able to work unti PGWP is approved.
I don't think students are allowed to work after their final results are published and they are waiting for a completion letter. They can start working again as soon as they apply for a PGWP, provided their study permit is valid.Your situation is very similar to mine. I applied in June, and there are many of us who applied in June as well who are waiting for both our SP extension +SOWP. I called IRCC, and they said they are processing applications based on the order they were received. So, I’m guessing that once June applications are processed, it means yours is getting closer to being reviewed. However, even in December, many people who applied in May were still getting approved. I believe that this month, both June and July applicants will get their approvals. Let’s keep praying—I know how you feel.Has anyone who applied for SP extention + OWP around July 30th 2024 gotten approval yet. I haven't gotten any updates at all and it's stressing me out.
I know some people waited for 6 months and some weeks. I know of a few that applied in June and still waiting.Hello everyone, I applied for a study permit extension and OWP for my husband. I applied on June 29, 2024, and have not received any updates. Does anybody know what the actual waiting time is?
