Hello everyone, sorry for the long text, we really need your help. so I appreciate it if someone could help us.
My wife came to Canada on a study permit, and we got engaged after her arrival. We faced a delay in receiving our marriage certificate, and when it arrived, it contained an error in her place of birth. As a result, we've had to send it back to the administration office for correction. We're currently waiting for the corrected certificate, which is necessary for us to initiate the spousal sponsorship process. Additionally, she needs to obtain a police report from her home country, which might take another 1-2 months.
In the meantime, her study permit is set to expire on March 22nd. Given that her study period was less than a year (about 10 months), I'm wondering if she's eligible to apply for a Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP). She holds dual citizenship in Iran and Turkey. I'm also aware of another option for obtaining an open work permit for citizens of both countries, valid until February 28th. Could we apply for this as well?
I'm concerned about how these options might affect our sponsorship process. Our goal is to avoid her having to leave Canada. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
