Hi Guys,

First, a BIG thanks to all of you in this forum, you gave me so much information and make my dream come true.

I have been admitted at University of New Brunswick, Computer Science Master program with duration of 2 years. Today, I've received the "visa" letter, and it states that I have valid permit only for one year which differs with the End date of my studies that I've stated in my visa application.

Does anyone know why this happened? Can any problem appears from this?

And after 1 year I should extend my study permit or I should apply again like the first time?

Please advise.

I replaced my old passport with new one before I've applied for the Visa, so it is no less than 2016 (I'm at work at the moment so cannot tell for sure).

nothing to worry, this is very common in canada visa cases, u can get an extension easily once u get there

Thank you guys, now I can pack without worries :)))...

I wish luck to all other applicants.

What everybody suggested + apply about 2-3 months before the expiry of your current TRV to be on a safer side.

Thanks for the advices ;)

Hi,

You actually need to take care of the renewal of your study permit. Suggested minimum time to apply for renewal is 30 days prior to the expiry of your study permit.

Once you apply, you can continue to study until you receive any decision.

I didn't find anything about renewing study permits. Do you have any information how this process is done?

Thanks

Go to your Universities International Student Office/Centre when you land there. They will take care of it.

Be at peace, enjoy your days in India.
