I submitted my application at New Delhi and the status has been under-processing since May 6,2010. I mailed them a couple of times and they say they need to review (what kind of review they are doing, I don't know). What should I do ? It's already August and I need to reach my univ. before Sept.

I think you have applied under normal case...i doubt there is no other option than waiting...have you got your medical call...

I did the medicals in advance. So there is nothing I can do, file a request letter or something ?

as far as i know this option is only open for SPP ( medicals in advace)...so have you submitted your file under SPP or normal....and yes you can submit a request letter as i submitted one and got an immediate response from them...well it worked like a charm for me you should give it a try...go to your VFS and write a request letter to embassy to update the status of your application as the college start date is approaching...and wait for their call...if you have submitted your file under SPP than you should start to worry and check with VFS...my file was missing for 40 days in embassy because of a mistake from VFS...so you should check out with them...hope for the best...

Do you mean medical in advance is only open for SPP ?? Could this be the reason ?? However I applied under Study Permit- University
hxxp://vfs-canada.co.in/Study%20Permit%20Checklist-University.pdf

It says we can do the medicals before applying. Are SPP and Study Permit - University the same thing ? I'm going for my MSc.

it is clearly written on the checklist that you can opt for medicals in advance...so thats not an issue....well this means you are under normal process...you should wait than...as normal process takes some time...SPP and University permit are different...under SPP we need to apply only to one of the colleges that are listed under SPP program...and also SPP takes less time in processing and less documentation...embassy says that SPP takes minimum of 15 working days to get an initial response...while on the other hand normal process takes much more time compare to SPP for processing and asks for more documents...still you can try the request letter option...but if you have already got a mail reply from them stating that they are reviewing your application than i think you should wait..there is no point in getting the same reply back from them...they throughly check all the documents...so it takes some time in verifying documents...so wait a while and you will get your visa in coming days...

ok, now this is frustrating. One of my friends who had applied just 1 month ago got his visa today. The only difference was that he did not do his medical in advance. We both have similar credentials (both having TA from univ., so guess no worries for financial).
Since this is the first time that medical test can be done beforehand, could it be that they have messed up with our medical records ? There is no way other than to wait and watch, but how long ?? I've already rejected another scholarship because of this canada visa, and they have my passport. If they don't give the decision by the starting date of my university, is there a way to get my passport back ?

Hey Friends,,,

Seeing this Story m to a part of it...

I have submited my File on 25th JUNE under SPP and till now i didnt get any response frm them just it shows under Process that it.. i havenot done my Medical i m waiting for their initial call .. but till now no sucess

all things are tried mailing them + calling them regularly still of no use ..

Can't do anything but wait and watch what happens. I'm starting to lose hope as to why they are taking so much time. It'll be really weird if they reject us though, why didn't they reject us earlier and have to wait till the starting date of our univ.

me too losing hope now
as people who applied after me
and whose case was same as me got reply in 2-3 days and visa in 10days ... i guess m a unlucky person

It's August 11, and still I'm waiting no repsonse..."under processing" this is so damn frustrating. Are they gonna give a decision before the classes start or are there any cases where visa was still under processing even after the univ. start date has passed ?

I dont want to demoralize you..But there have been many cases on this forum itself where the people are waiting for there visa even after the start of the class...they were asked to change there intake and ask for a new offer letter from the college and submit to CHC..But it is very rare that CHC takes this step of forcing the student to change the intake..So hope that you will get your visa on time...

been 7 weeks.... got about 16 days till the date that i intended to leave :(... Hope it comes soon guys!
May God help us all!
