The advice I given was purely according to the CIC rules, your advice ain't any have different information than what I've written. I agree there was some type error but it was purely understandable and according to the terms and conditions of CIC.

Moreover,

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/work-offcampus.asp

Check out this link. You'll find CIC clearly wrote you've the authority to work for 20 hours, and after that off campus work is not authorized and this could jeopardize someone's career.
Dude, you missing the point, there was a typo and it was funny (learn to take a joke next time). That's it. You do realize you don't have to be serious all the time. Your intentions are good.

The advice you gave was dead against CIC rules, thanks to your typo.

Read section "3.1 Number Of Working Hours" and pay attention to the second paragraph. Do also pay attention to that this is off the CIC website.

Going against the rules is not jeopardizing careers. It's jeopardizing rights to remain and study in Canada.

20 hours limit is for Off Campus only as well...
Only off campus.
there is no law or policy keeping students from working 20 hours a week on campus and 20 hours a week off campus

HOWEVER,
DIRs should discourage students from working more than 20 hours a week. DIRs should remind students that they must study full time and keep an acceptable academic standing to stay eligible for the program.

Yes, i did call CIC call center and they said you can even work full time on campus without any restrictions but your status at the institution should be full time
