Hi everyone, I recently had to extend my study and the new study permit I got had a condition stating that I cannot engage in work. Now I just received my amended study permit to gain work authorization but the conditions are different from the remarks.

Can I work or not??

I am confused because the Conditions say:

1. Must LEAVE CANADA BY 2025/03/31
2.NOT VALID FOR EMPLOYMENT IN BUSINESSES RELATED TO THE SEX TRADE SUCH AS STRIP CLUBS, MASSAGE PARLOURS OR ESCORT SERVICES.
3. MAY ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT ON OR OFF CAMPUS IF MEETING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS PER R186(F)

Remarks:
THIS PERMIT DOES NOT AUTHORIZE THE HOLDER TO ENGAGE IN EMPLOYMENT IN CANADA

Please Help. Thank you

The statements definitely contradict each other. Send a web form asking for clarification and re-issuance of SP reflecting the same.

At this point, I would say no you cannot work due to remarks. What school are you attending? Have you always been full time?

I was full time but I took a break from school for like a semester
So you are not eligible to work as you don’t meet “3. MAY ACCEPT EMPLOYMENT ON OR OFF CAMPUS IF MEETING ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA AS PER R186(F).” Read the link. You have not been a full-time student and took a semester off. So it is not contradictory.
