My Timeline is 5 weeks and i am just in the 3 week but people apply and get an answer after a week but i will wait on them

Yes, my mother was one of them but i guess it depends on the case load and the officer who sees it

I agree with you. My hypothesis is that first they check papers and if thats all okay then they send for background check via third parties, which usually takes time. I think we are all set.

Cheers

Thank you I Think so too

Unfortunately i got my refusal letter yesterday evening :'( :'( :'( i am heartbroken. I still hope you get yours

I am so sorry to hear that. Don't worry, work in the areas of rejection and apply again for May semester. Do you know what it says in refusal?

Thanks though. lets see whats in my card. Fingers crossed.

Im going to try for the may semester, the reasons for refusal were family ties in Canada and country of residence, purpose of visit and failure to satify that study in Canada is reasonable weighted against potential career/employment benefits in country of residence.

I dont even know they came up with these reasons my parents showed cars and a house for family ties in Jamaica and my father is employed in Jamaica and my mother is in Canada on a valid study permit.
I wrote a letter explaining what my plans for the next 5 years were and how studying in Canada would play a role in that and how i was coming back to jamaica to open a special service business.
The course of study ( Personal Support Worker) is not available in Jamaica so i dont know how they got the last reason

I am so dissapointed , it just look like they ere looking a reason to refuse me

Is there any update on your's??

They are taking quite a long time with your application, must be the background checks

Since they are taking so long, you might have to defer acceptance to next semester.

Well I was thinking to wait till whole dec , I talked to school too and they are okay with that or will transfer to May session
