Study permit and temporary residence visa expire before study completion

Hi All,

I just received my study permit approval. My course will get completed in May 2022 but my temporary residence visa that was stamped on my passport expires on 30-sep-2021. Since I am in India as of now and am yet to fly to Canada, I do not have a Study permit. I want to know when I land in Canada can I ask the immigration officer at the airport to issue me a study permit for the entire period of my course that is till May 2022. Or they will issue a study permit till the visa is valid that is 30-sep-2021.

Don't think you can ask for anything. You take what they give you.

You can talk to them if it turns out in your favor then it's very good, otherwise just apply for an extension before your SP expiry date...
