Yes. You do have to show more funds. 10k for main applicant + 4k for spouse + 1st-year tuition.

Yes you can apply together. Depending on your profile and what degree you are applying for it can weaken your application. If you won’t study without your spouse accompanying you then you should definitely apply together.
