Hey all,

I have applied for my Study Permit and also my husband's Open Work Permit at the same time online. The processing time for the Study Permit is 2 weeks and 5 weeks for the Work Permit. Will they be reaching a decision on both of our visas at the same time or separately? And if together, which processing time will they be going by?

I am also a bit nervous because we did not send a return ticket back to our country (because I am unsure when graduation will be) and my husband and I were saving outside of a bank so when asked to provide a bank statement we put our savings on the account all one time without submitting a letter of explanation as it said it was optional.

Is there a likely chance that we will be rejected due to any of these things? Is or was anyone in a similar situation? Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing anyone's feedback.

Hi may I ask how much money did you show as your financial capacity for both of you?
Thanks.

Normally airline companies hold the ticket under open ticket for a year, I believe if your education is for more than a year, then you may not be required, but it also depends on your passport, I.E your nationality, the funds you are carrying and a proof that you will return back to your home country.

To me, your application seems to have weak point in finance. Return ticket is not required for long duration course. They may process two applications differently, not sure about that.

Hi hi, well only about $6,000 for living expenses however we will have much more than that when we come over which we advised them of. Also we provided a separate statement for my school fees that covers the whole thing.

Hey, thank you for your help. Also, an ex-coworker of mine that is there for school told me that the amount I showed should be sufficient and I will have much more before actually leaving because both my husband and I still have jobs. Also I provided a separate statement with the full amount of my school fee on it so they know that will be paid.
