Hi, I am currently applying for my student permit. I started my application on July 28, 2020.
I already gave my biometrics on August 25, 2020. I am applying outside of Canada (Morocco)
I would like to know how long is the procedure until I get a validation?
Im supposed to be in Canada around the 15th of September, is there anyway to have a faster reply?

There is no way. Even if you got full approval, current travel restrictions does not allow you to travel Canada.

Thank you for your response but, I am pretty sure I can travel because I know for a fact that you can be travelling for an essential (non-discretionary) purpose. An international student with a valid study permit is a valuable reason to travel. I just now wanna know how long would be the procedure after giving biometrics.

Its true if your visa approved on or before March 18. The only way for you is to travel US and then travel with a direct flight to Canada but I still don't think the border officier will let you in.

The following foreign nationals who are currently outside Canada are exempt from Canada’s travel restrictions and can travel to Canada if they are travelling for a non-discretionary purpose:

  • foreign nationals who hold a valid Canadian study permit as defined in section 2 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR)
    • Document to present to the air carrier: status document [IMM 1442] (the actual valid study permit document).
  • foreign nationals who received a letter of introduction from IRCC dated on or before March 18, 2020
    • Document to present to the air carrier: a paper copy or e-version of the letter of introduction dated on or before March 18, 2020.
I'm confused. Does this mean you either need to have a full study permit or a letter of introduction received before March 18?

Yes if you are not traveling from US, you need to have a valid visa approved before March 18. As I said, you may travel US first and then travel to Canada but it's risky since border agent will aware of you enter US just to by pass their rule.

So is there any chances for me to travel to Canada by having a top in the US? And if yes what do I need to prepare to travel (papers, authorizations,...)
It's actually pretty easy to enter the US from Morocco I think. The border agent here are understanding and if you have enough proof that you travel for essential purpose then I might be okay.
It is such a stressful situation for me.

Yes you can travel through US. You just need a stamped visa or letter of introduction. It's not realistic that you can get a full approval soon since there are applicants waiting for more than 3 months.

Also, even you get your visa, you need to show proof that your presence in Canada is essential.
