Hi,
Extra info regarding Student Visa :
This is tricky.
On paper, one can apply for any course in any level. But, as far as I know... in reality.. it will be a problem for one to get a visa, if one applies for a course below his/her existing qualification AND the area of study applying for is different than his/her previous qualification. keeping this in mind-- your previous qualification B.SC is definitely very different from the course you are aspiring to do -interior design. I mean, from what I see.. you will have to have a good reason as to why you are choosing this course. Since, you are already a B.SC, it's not advisable to apply for lower level courses such as certificate and Diploma programs. Although studying again a Bachelor's should not be a that big of negative point and only the more experienced people/ consultants can answer whether again applying for a fresh UG Bachelor's degree will create any problems/ reasons for study mismatch, when applying for a visa.

Interior Design programmes:
Nevertheless, I believe you can apply to a 4 years UG degree in Interior design in any of the colleges or Universities. Now, entry to the 4 year UG courses have higher admission standards, usually competitive and requires min B or min C (in case of lower rung Universities like Vancouver Island university) in your grade 12 and submitting your portfolio ( for this you really need to have that talent/ aptitude/ skill for design). You will have to check the admission requirements of each Univ./Colleges and contact the individual Colleges & Universities, as to whether they will consider your B.Sc marks(which are not that low), and at the end after going though your profile, portfolio etc. it will depend on the Colleges/Universities as to grant you admission or not. There are many Universities offering degree programme in Design such as Vancouver Island University, Ryerson univ., Univ. of Manitoba, Kwantlen Polytechnic University, etc. But, You will have to Google and look into all the College/Univ. websites and search for available programmes in Interior Design. You 'll have to do the hard work and research and find all possible options for yourself. Or alternatively go to a reputed study abroad consultant. No one here can practically give you the complete list of courses, Universities, admission requirements etc. matching your criteria. Hope you understand that!!!

Also, there is a special 2 years Master's level course in Interior design at Univ. of Manitoba for those WHO HAVE A UG DEGREE IN A SUBJECT OTHER THAN DESIGN, and can apply for this programme after completing a 1 year pre-masters year. But, again the admission standards are high and requires min B in your UG. However, you can email or call the specific department and ask, if you can be eligible for admission to the Pre-master year. This way you can become an interior designer in 3 years instead of 4 if you are to pursue a Bachelor's degree.

And as for TOEFL/IELTS, different Universities have specific requirements ususally requiring minimum 6.5 in IELTS to 7.0 in some graduate programmes.

Seniors/other's are welcome to add/rectify.

Best of Luck

AHHA ..NOPE! ??? :-X Dude..you didn't get what I said. Read my previous answer carefully. Not just TOEFL/IELTS score..but lots of things will be taken into factor before any university/College grants you admission. TOEFL/IELTS is a standard requirement. I again copy from my previous answer:

entry to the 4 year UG courses have higher admission standards, usually competitive and requires min B or min C (in case of lower rung Universities like Vancouver Island university) in your grade 12 and submitting your portfolio ( for this you really need to have that talent/ aptitude/ skill for design). Same also applies to the Masters programme (with pre-master year) at U. of Manitoba.

Hope it clears your queries this time.

Hi,
As far as bank loans are concerned, your parents(or whoever supporting you financially)must have a good financial background(can be your guarantor) and you already have an admission to any of the recognized Canadian Universities/ colleges, then bank loan should not be a problem at all. People, with much lower percentages have secured bank loan and it has MORE to do with you/your parent's financial strength and the course you are choosing and securing admission in.

And, regarding Architecture/interior design/ landscape design etc. etc, these are specialized fields and since I'm not related to these, I cannot and should not give you any specific advice. You must consult an Architect/ present students in this field/ career counselors/ do research yourself. In general, I know this much that Architecture is a specialized field of construction where one has more to do with the art and designing of the structure as compared to the study of construction science in Civil engineering. Also, that you should have a strong mathematics/Physics/Chemistry background (just like in Engineering) along with an excellent aptitude for design/engineering drawing/drawing to be an architect.

Here is a sample of courses people usually study for 5 years Bachelor of Architecture at one of India's premium engineering college system NITs( formerly REC's) (and since it's a universal technical profession, these subjects will be more or less same throughout the world). http://www.manit.ac.in/manitbhopal/downloads/syllabus/archi/barch/Syllabus.pdf
There's also a specialized degree in Bachelor of Design at India's best Engineering college system -IITs,Guwahati campus.( you can check it out and will get an idea as to what subjects they study).
Getting admission to Canadian colleges, I believe 'll definitely be much easier, if you have a good/ above average portfolio.

Rest, you have to figure out, do yourself research, find out what REALLY you want to do be it architecture, design, management or whatever field it may be and how to proceed.

Best of luck
