hello there,
i currently hold valid australian students visa but wanted to apply to canada. is it possible to do so. moreover , my godfather who is canadian citizen is going to fund my entire education fees. since he is not related by blood . what kind of documents needs to be prepared to apply for the student visa
Yes, you can apply. Ideally you should complete your studies in Australia and then apply for a higher level of study in Canada. If you don't complete your studies in Australia or are looking to leave your studies in Australia without finishing them, you'll want to explain why in a letter since this may make it more difficult to be approved for a visa to Canada and cause IRCC to question if you are a genuine / serious student.
Your godfather can sponsor you however this will reduce your chances of being approved. IRCC prefers if the applicant sponsors themselves or if an immediate family member sponsors them (e.g. parent). If someone is sponsoring you who is a more distant relative or not related to you by blood, it becomes more difficult to be approved. If you want to try, your godfather needs to provide you with a bank statement showing he has at least $25,000 in savings to cover your first year tuition and $10,000 in living expenses. He also needs to provide a letter (an affidavit is better) stating that he is committing to sponsoring your studies.
